About Mike the Bike
Mike the Bike is a Toronto-based bicycle repair business built on decades of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of how people actually use their bikes.
Mike has been fixing and riding bicycles since 1986. In 1989, he completed his first food delivery by bike, and by the late 1990s he was working with courier and delivery companies in Halifax, Nova Scotia—long before bike delivery was powered by apps or platforms. Those early years shaped how he sees bicycles: not as trends, but as tools people depend on every day.
After returning to Toronto in the early 2000s, Mike combined bike repair with bicycle-based delivery, running a small operation out of a single shop. By 2014, as large app-based services took over the delivery space, he chose to step back rather than scale in a way that didn’t make sense. He worked outside the bike industry for several years—including through COVID—while continuing to repair bikes, build wheels, and refine his skills.
Today, Mike the Bike operates primarily out of 707 Dundas Street West, with additional appointment-based service and storage at 21 Ossington Avenue. The focus is simple: honest repairs, clear pricing, and helping people keep good bikes on the road.
Mike specializes in bicycle repair, wheel building, diagnostics, and practical problem-solving. The business is built on experience, patience, and the belief that good work still matters.
